Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the work is performed in a safe manner.
• Setup and maintain the project files.
• Develop and maintain logs for submittals, re-submittals, requests for information, and change requests.
• Collect and record quantities in the construction management database daily.
• Maintain records of all quantities, changes, and payments made and continuously reconcile quantities and payments with the contract documents.
• Receive and check payment applications and all supporting documents and expedite timely processing of payment applications.
• Attend the weekly progress meetings and provide minutes in accordance with procedures including updates on the documentation logs.
• Determine with the Construction Manager to whom a request for information needs to be forwarded for a response.
• Provide guidance and training to electrical inspection staff.
• Oversee the Traction Power/Electrical inspection efforts.
• Monitor construction progress of the electrical items compared to the contract schedule.
• Observe the contractors work to ensure compliance with the contract documents and applicable electrical codes.
• Enforce traction power/electrical product quality requirements and follow predetermined test plans.
• Perform customer witness testing as required to demonstrate equipment conformity and functionality.
• Utilize specialized software or testing equipment to perform engineering analysis on traction power and electrical systems.
• Make sure copies of all test results are approved by the responsible party and properly filed.
• Serve as a liaison and ensure the work is properly coordinated with members of the DC Streetcar team including utility companies, the designer of record, outside consultants and all others involved in the project.
• Support the Construction Manager on the technical and administrative areas of the project.
• Assist the project team in preparing management reports.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Construction Manager.


Basic/Required Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years of electrical inspection experience.
• Experience working with Rail Traction Power Systems, DC Electricity or AC to DC conversions.
• Experience working with 600/750 volt DC rail transit traction power substations.
• Experience working with low/medium/high voltage switchgear/switchboards.
• Experience working with Overhead Catenary System (OCS).
• Effective oral and written communications skills.
• Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.


Preferred Qualification:
• Bachelors degree plus experience working with rail traction power systems preferred.
