Summary
Candidate will be a member of the Electrical Services team. In this role you will be working with and mentoring other team members in developing electronic and embedded systems. The successful candidate will be able to translate customer requirements into a system architecture including system drawings, clear specifications, schematics, firmware, and then implement the design. This individual must communicate effectively with engineers from different disciplines as well as cross functional team members. A particular focus on high reliability embedded systems, both hardware and firmware is required to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in the development of product requirements for various monitoring and control systems. Create system and firmware architectures that support the product requirements. Be an advocate for best engineering practices and development processes. Participate in cross discipline engineering design reviews. Recommend development tools and other potential development equipment required. The successful Embedded Engineer will implement electrical designs, including schematics, layout, firmware, test processes, and work with external resources. This engineer must work proactively to find solutions to problems that arise during development, production, or deployment.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years in embedded systems development experience with a strong focus on monitoring and control systems, embedded firmware.
• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
• A thorough knowledge of electronic and embedded system design.
• Hands-on design, testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong experience in developing high reliability system design.
• Established track record of completing projects in a time- and resource-effective manner.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Experience with CAD software and microprocessors and controllers required.
• Experience with C, and C++ is required, and LINUX experience a plus.
