The VP of IT/Cloud Services will have a passion for technology, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The VP will design, strategize, coordinate, and direct all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for the IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. This individual will collaborate directly with the executive management team to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
- Setting direction for hardware, infrastructure, and network platforms to meet business needs and to rapidly scale our systems
- Ensuring backup and monitoring systems are in place and working well, owning technical aspects of business continuity planning/disaster recovery
- Overseeing the administration of our IT Policies and Compliance certifications (eg SAS70)
- Selecting & managing vendors, maintaining SLAs, negotiating contracts and prices for services and equipment (both internal and external systems)
- Demonstrating knowledge of root cause analysis and ability to develop and implement corrective actions in a timely fashion, enlisting support as needed
- Managing core infrastructure budget, driving unit costs down, managing team responsible for implementation and integration of hardware, network, software and system enhancements in 24/7/365 data environment
- Working with business heads to decide priorities, communicating progress on projects, interfacing with customers, demonstrating strong interpersonal, customer service, problem solving, and leadership skills as well as effective communication at all staff levels
- Proven leadership ability and a track record of successfully managing a tiered IT department with managers that oversee a staff of engineers and also vendors that complete - multiple concurrent projects, diverse resources, and dynamic situations
- Experience in successfully managing a data center
- Familiarity with hardware and software platforms including SAN, Virtualization (VMWare, preferably), BigIP, Dell, Cisco, Oracle, Linux)
- Familiarity with Perl, shell, DNS, smtp, routing protocols, VoIP, video technologies, and database systems
- BS/MS engineering / computer science/ related strongly preferred
- Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
