Position Summary:

Partners with other project team members and vendors to support the tasks related to interface engine and application installation, development, testing and documentation to ensure that departmental data and transactions are received and interpreted correctly.

Essential Duties:

• Perform administrative functions to maintain and manage interfaces with eGate and eLink interface engines.
• Analyze, maintain and update interface specifications based on user requirements changes, and/or modifications to data formats, hardware platforms or protocols of either the sending or receiving systems
• Analyzes interface specifications from both sending and receiving systems to determine feasibility and interface methodology to write detailed interface specifications and process flows.
• Participate in functional, integrated, and volume testing during system upgrades and installment of new applications.
• Provides input into escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources.
• Troubleshoot interface issue and document interfaces and incidents as required
• Conducts interface implementation for installation projects by working closely and collaboratively with project managers, application analysts, business owners and vendors to design and build interfaces under the guidance of senior level team members.
• Maintain an understanding of hospital wide applicators as well as those applications with which they interface.
• Performs on-call duties as required responding and resolving help desk tickets and alerts.

Experience & Knowledge:

• 1+ years experience working with HL-7 is required.
• 1+ years experience in a clinical work environment is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems related to the implementation and processing of software required.
• Must be detail-oriented and organized, with good research, analytical and problem solving ability.
• Notable client service, communication, presentation and relationship building skills required.
• Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience implementing information systems required.
• Experience with external system interfaces, interface testing, and interface analysis and documentation required.
• Experience coding in Java required.
• Unix shell script experience is required.
• Knowledge of change control procedures and standards are a plus.
• Familiarity with Solaris, Monk and PERL is a plus.
• Knowledge of Sun Microsystems eGate and Elink interface engine is a plus.

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

• Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.) required.
• Knowledge of MS Visio and Project are a plus.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures are a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Business Management/Nursing/Pharmacy required.
