This position is moderately visible to the hospital's business service lines and functions as a team member responsible for assisting in providing application(s) configuration support to enhance department's operational efficiencies/ workflow needs. Business units may include: Finance and Payroll; Accounting; Human Resources; Supply Chain; Quality Center; the Central Business Office; Patient Access; Nutrition and Environmental Services; UHMG; UHMP; the Extended Care Campus; Homecare; Compcare; Legal; Compliance, Risk Management and IR&D. Duties include:

• Supports major enterprise application and others as assigned.
• Independently facilitates design of business workflow in conjunction with the business units and provides guidance to Application Analysts in designing improved efficiencies, solving complex workflow issues and incorporating quality initiatives.
• Leads unit and integrated testing of the software to ensure that the design objectives are met, including the development and validation of testing scripts.
• Maintains high degree of understanding of departments' business processes.
• Troubleshoots application issues, with/without vendor assistance, to resolution
• Troubleshoots system hardware, as needed.
• Partners with end users to understand workflow and business processes.
• Maintains system security for assigned applications.
• Manages Disaster Recovery and Back Up requirements for assigned systems and provides guidance to Applications Analysts in activities.
• Acts as the team project lead in partnership with the Project Management Office on all phases of a project; from scoping and design through implementation and transition to Operations.
• Mentors Application Analysts.
• Produces and maintains custom reports; maintains knowledge and experience with industry standard report writers such as Crystal Reports.
• Provides input to components of development of end-user training materials and participates in training efforts.
• Assists other team members in ensuring high documentation standards.
• Leads escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources, to resolution.
• Develops policies and procedures in collaboration with business units, other analyst team members, and IT Application manager.
• Independently leads application upgrades and troubleshooting efforts and provides guidance to application analysts.
• Supports and troubleshoots Hospital Information Systems interfaces for inbound/outbound and billing orders.
• Creates reports and assigns work problem tickets to Application Analysts.
• Evaluates and maintains appropriate system documentation.
• Collaborates with other application analysts to insure system integrations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements:
3+ years experience in an IT environment(preferably Healthcare) required, supporting business applications such as:
• Soarian
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required.
Knowledge of MS Office/MS Visio/MS Project required.

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

Knowledge of LAN, DNS, and networking required.
Knowledge of SQL databases required.
Ability to work with servers and apply software upgrades required.
Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures required.
Knowledge and experience with HL7 Interfaces required.
Knowledge and experience with SQL based applications required.
Knowledge of ITIL standards desired.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Required
