Job Description
POSITION
Imagine building a web platform that will change the waypeople think and improve live their lives.
Our client is a funded startup backed by sophisticated angelinvestors. We are building a person-to-person marketplace for servicesand activities. Our primary dimensions are social, local and temporal.
You must be passionate about the above, a positive, driven and motivatedindividual, and excited about building high-quality product.
We are looking to fill both back-end and iOS softwaredevelopment roles. You have either intermediate orsenior-level experience, and work well in a lean team of smart, energizedpeople.
If you enjoy focusing on back-enddevelopment, you will be driving development of features such as our businesslogic, RESTful APIs, and a recommendation engine. You'll write beautifulcode including automated tests.
If you enjoy iOS development, you will head-up our client's mobile app development in a big way. Your role will includecreating custom UI, integrating with our solid API backend built in Rails. You will build GPS functionality, advanced push notifications, contactlist integration, camera integration, and more. You should be familiar withautomated testing. You have shipped excellent apps before. You have astute taste, a strong sense of design and care strongly about UI/UX.
TIMEFRAME
- We're flexible but looking to grow our team immediately
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product development: thought partner and shape design andfunctionality of our product
- Implementation: Own product sprints for building of our client's technology platform
- Big data: Implement data collection services, analyze largedata sets, and build tools
- Integrity: Craft automated tests, design and implement A/Btesting environments

- Proficient in Ruby 1.9 and Rails 3
- Excited about BDD, automated deployment, fixing bugs, andshipping code
- Familiar with MongoDB, Linux, Amazon Web Services (AWS),OAuth, Facebook Graph API
- Bonus if you are: savvy with machine learning / naturallanguage processing / recommendation algorithms; or if you are experienced innative mobile app development
iOS DEV SPECIFICS
- Experienced with iOS, Objective C, Xcode
- Has shipped apps with custom UI, API integration
