About this opportunity:
The Communications Technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, isolates malfunctions and repairs equipment to the component level. Equipment includes ATM and TDM nodes, VOIP consoles, security video cameras and DVR's. This position also performs server administration tasks that require knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, anti-virus software updates, and Cisco router and switch installation.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of practical experience with:
• Server Administration
• Active Directory\Microsoft Exchange
• DC power supplies
• Cisco Router and Switch administration
• Communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic)
• Digital/analog signal processing
• Synchro-servo circuits
• Electro-mechanical devices
• Video signal processing and recording
• Antennas\RF systems \RF signal processing
• Low-voltage AC equipment
The Communications Technician position requires:
• High School diploma or high school equivalency; formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance.
• Maintaining current certifications in Safety at Heights climber, RF Radiation Awareness, COMSEC and CPR/First Aid.
