Reading Partners launched in 2001 with the mission to expand opportunities for children in underserved communities by fostering a lifelong love of reading, developing strong literacy skills, and building the confidence and self-esteem critical to empowerment and community development. Reading Partners provides children with robust one-on-one reading support through a structured, research-based curriculum that engages students and provides basic building blocks to supplement their schoolwork. Working in partnership with teachers, schools, and community volunteers, Reading Partners has successfully established its programs nationwide. Currently, Reading Partners serves over 3,400 students in California, Washington DC, New York, Maryland, and Texas with plans for growth into other regions in the near future.
Reading Partners seeks an Information Technology (IT) Manager to ensure the streamlined operation of IT functions in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. S/he will be based in our Oakland Headquarter office and will provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of all internal business information and technology systems. These systems include computers, networks, server, backups, phones, printers, mobile devices, security, email, and all related hardware and software. S/he will develop the overall visionary for strategic IT planning and will oversee the deployment of IT initiatives throughout for the organization. This position is critical to scale our IT infrastructure to allow this growth to continue. Major responsibilities will include planning; coordinating, directing and designing IT related activities for this growing organization.
The ideal candidate will have superior organizational and multi tasking skills while working well with a wide range of people. Effective performance requires assessing IT problems, finding efficient solutions, and developing a strong IT foundation for future growth.
