You will have total ownership of pieces of product you ship to our production environment. At times you may find yourself writing a feature front (UI) to back (backend). This is a position of significant responsibility and has the potential to grow into a strong leadership role within the company.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of working with RoR or equivalent MVC framework
• Knowledge of OO design patterns, refactoring and unit testing
• Familiarity working in a UNIX environment
• Experience with Javascript and related frameworks (prototype, jQuery, etc)
• Thorough knowledge of RDBMS
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to develop simple, elegant solutions to complex problems
• You should be flexible to try new technology
• You need to have built something that you are proud to show us

Bonus Points:

• Prior work experience at a highly trafficked consumer facing site
• Experience with RSpec/Cucumber
• Experience with Hadoop or other MapReduce-based architectures
• Experience with Apache Solr search server
• Knowledge of Git version control
• Understanding of distributed systems
• Open source contributor
