Large Washington, DC law firm is seeking a top-notch Database Developer The selected candidate will provide database development, integration, maintenance and administration to support firm goals and business objectives. He/she will review and evaluate upgrades to database systems and communicate database changes to affected users. Additionally, he/she will monitor and maintain database systems to ensure maximum performance and availability.

The following is an overview of the responsibilities for this position:

Install, update and troubleshoot database applications in support of the firm's Intellectual Property (IP) practice.

Provide direct support various database applications for the firm's administrative departments.

Identify opportunities to automate manual business processes. Design and implement applications to automate these processes.

Provides application support and enhancements to existing applications. Defines system requirements, priorities and viable alternatives. Coordinates efforts to locate, assess, install, test and maintain computer software systems.

Provides technical training, guidance and resource support for end users and appropriate IT department staff.

Coordinate conversions and upgrades with outside vendors.

Perform complex database analysis.

Special projects as needed.


Required Experience and Education:


Minimum of 3 years experience in database administration, analysis and development in a professional services firm environment. Law firm is highly preferred, but not necessary. Up to 5 years experience. No more than 6. It's a more junior position.

Must have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, IIS and SQL Server and SRS Reporting. MCITP Certification desired.

BS/BA in Computer Science preferred, but not required

Experience with .Net development using Microsoft Visual Studio.

Experience with SharePoint 2007 and custom web parts.

Knowledge of CPI, IPDAS, Patrix, ADP, Kronos and ViDesktop desired.

Experience with ASP.NET 1.1, 2.0 and 3.5.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Must be a team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals at all levels of the firm.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate credibly with both internal and external clients.

Flexibility to work some evening and weekends when necessary.
