Our company designs computer systems and networks, and provides technical support services to clients throughout the lower mainland. Located in downtown Vancouver, our company is looking for a Network Specialist to join our small team of technicians. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Position Objectives:

This position will provide support for both our client base and our team of Network Specialists. It is expected that this person will have a strong combination of practical experience and education with certifications in relevant areas such as Microsoft Server and Client software. Only Team Players need apply.


Core Responsibilities include:

• Handle day-to-day hardware, software, and network support requests by phone, email, remote access, and on-site visits to our various client locations and environments
• Configure and deploy servers into new and existing network environments for new configurations, upgrades, migrations, etc.
• Configure and deploy various other network devices
• Provide diagnostics for hardware such as servers, storage subsystems, hard drives, tape units, workstations, switches, etc.
• Provide disaster recovery preparation
• Available to be on call for disaster recovery and critical support situations
• Monitor and provide ongoing maintenance of clients networks, servers and systems
• Keep a timely and detailed record of all incidents, while maintaining accountability and ownership until incidents are resolved
• Maintain client site network diagrams and network documentation
• Establish and maintain effective working relationship with clients and team members
• Ensure client satisfaction through overall quality assurance
• Identify opportunities for product and support sales to clients
• Help maintain and develop our in-house network
• Provide input in defining and refining the technology we provide


Required Skills:

• Candidates should have appropriate certifications or have successfully completed relevant courses
• Strong knowledge of and practical experience with Microsoft based products is essential.
• Knowledge of Netware and / or Linux an asset.
• Have completed or been involved with successful Server and Network deployments
• Possess an in-depth knowledge of storage technologies and protocols such as RAID, NAS, SAN, SCSI, SATA, SAS,etc.
• Possess an in-depth knowledge of Active Directory Services
• A solid understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP & DNS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to be professional and patient when supporting clients and fellow team members in difficult and stressful situations
• Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Enjoy working within a team, but can also work effectively independently
